It was love at first sight when I coincidentally ran into that pic when skipping through seoul pics on flickr...
there is hardly any snow in seoul actually... I cannot remember one single day with snow by the time when I was in seoul...

what I do remember is that when I was in there I asked some korean guy for a korean translation for

I love stepping on freshly fallen snow...I mean somehow I could translate it or rather describe it somehow...but I did want to know what a native korean person would say for this feeling...

I mean I do not quite believe an English native speaker would express is just as I did...

In German:

Ich mag es auf frisch gefallenen Schnee zu laufen...

bzw.

Ich mag es, wie der Schnee knarzt und knirscht, wenn man auf ihm läuft, nachdem er gerade frisch gefallen ist...


Oder

Ich mag das Knarzen frischgefallenen Schnees unter Schritten...



Oder hey...

Was mag ich eigentlich ganz genau...

das Geräusch oder das Laufen oder den SChnee..?

Let me explain


Ich mag das Gefühl, auf frisch gefallenem Schnee zu laufen.... zu fühlen, wie der frisch gefallene Schnee, die frisch gefallenen Schneeflocken unter dem Gewicht Deiner Schritte, zu einer festen Masse zusammengepresst werden...
Ebenso mag ich das Knarzen, das dadurch entsteht... Es ist nicht nur ein Geräusch dieses Knarzen, es ist ein Gefühl...ich kann das Knarzen nämlich nicht nur hören, ich kann es fühlen unter meinen Schuhen, Schritt für Schritt...


So...in English..

What do I like about the whole thing...is it the sound, is it the actual action of walking in snow or is it the snow itself?
well now..
it is the feeling to walk on snow...hell yeah, it is a feeling...
I love feeling how the freshly fallen snow or rather the light snowflakes happen to get compressed to one big mass under the weight of your steps...
I also love the sound that comes out of it... It is not only a sound, it is a feeling...cos it is not like I just hear the sound...I can feel it under my shoes, step by step...

To sum it up:
I just love walking on freshly fallen snow!

But hey, who doesn´t?,
